I am currently 23 years young and was born and raised in Sumter, South Carolina, but I have been living in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina for the past five years. I've grown quite accustomed to life in the Lowcounrtry and I'm not sure if I ever want to leave! I received my Bachelor's Degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Photography from the College of Charleston in May of 2011. I am a collector of antique cameras and my collection is ever expanding… some cameras as old as the turn of the 20th century! I shoot digital primarily, but I have a special place in my heart for film and accompanying darkroom.
Most photographers say that photography is their "job," "passion" or they "do it on the side for fun/money," but I feel my relationship with photography is much deeper than that. It is a part of me - probably the best part. Each picture is a piece of me. My photographs are a tangible part of my heart that I'm willing to share with everyone. I've dedicated my life to this craft starting at age fifteen and I haven't looked back once. I have never questioned that this is what I was born to do. When I capture the most beautiful, pleasing and heartfelt images that I possibly can, only then am I finally happy. But the best part is the indescribable feeling I get when seeing and hearing that my photographs have actually brought tears of joy to the eyes of my clients and that is how I know that I am who I'm supposed to be. God chose me, put me here at this time with this specific skill to help me help others feel joy, if only for a second.
"I'm more of a machine; an input of ideas with an output of photographs. like a composer to his compositions. its already in your soul, you just have to find the right way to coax it out."
